In all my years in the Bay Area, I hadn't found any Caribbean patties that satisfied my cravings from living in Crown Heights Brooklyn and eating super authentic West Indies food UNTIL I came across Chef Christina Alexis' beef patties made with the flakiest puff pastry I've ever had, rich with curry flavor. (I know puff pastry is not the traditional way to make them but trust me on this, it's really well done). I love that she uses high quality meat from the best butcher shops and seasons it to perfection. Plus, the patties stay good in your freezer until you're ready to enjoy them.
